Kaori Sakagami, born 坂上香織 on July 29, 1974, in Nagasaki, Japan, is a singer and actress who began her music career with the release of her first album 季節のプロローグ (Kisetsu no Prologue) in December 1988. Her breakthrough came with the single "プラトニックつらぬいて" ("Platonic Tsuranuite") in April 1989, which served as the theme song for the popular anime series Ranma 1/2. This exposure significantly boosted her career, leading to subsequent releases such as the album 夏休み (Natsuyasumi) in August 1989 and the single "グッドバイ・マイ・ラブ" ("Good-bye My Love") later in the year. In June 1990, she released another notable single, "瞳のダイアリー" (Hitomi no Diary). Her album Best Now was released in November 1990. Sakagami also ventured into acting, starring as the heroine in the 1991 film Den'ei Shōjo - Video Girl Ai. Later releases included compilations like Golden Best - Sakagami Kaori in 2003.
