The Rose Garden was an American folk rock band from Los Angeles, California. Formed in 1967 and disbanded by the end of 1968, the group featured Diana De Rose on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, John Noreen on 12-string guitar and backup vocals, James Groshong on lead vocals and guitar, William Fleming on bass, and Bruce Bowdin on drums. The band evolved from an earlier group known as The Blokes, which had covered much of the Byrds' work in its later years. In 1967, they signed with Atco Records and achieved their breakthrough hit with "Next Plane to London", reachingumber 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Their self-titled debut album The Rose Garden was released in January 1968. Dissension within the group, coupled with two members being drafted into the military, led to its dissolution by the end of that year. A posthumous compilation album, A Trip Through the Garden - The Rose Garden Collection, was released in June 2018.
