The Fiestas, an American rhythm and blues group from Newark, New Jersey, formed in 1958. Their breakthrough came when Hy Weiss, owner of Old Town Records, offered them a contract after hearing them sing in a bathroom adjacent to his office in Harlem. The group's first single, "So Fine", written by guitarist Frank Ingalls and his brother Samuel Ingalls, reached number 3 on the R&B singles chart and number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1959. Following this success, they released a series of soul singles, including "You Could Be My Girlfriend" and "Anna", though only "Broken Heart" (1962) achieved significant chart success, peaking at number 18 on the R&B singles chart. The Fiestas later recorded for labels such as Strand and Vigor until the mid-1970s. Their final television appearance was in May 2023 on PBS's Rock at 50, where they performed "So Fine" at the Benedum Center for the Performing Arts in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The group disbanded in 1978. In 2014, "So Fine" was featured in the video game LittleBigPlanet.
