The Sherrys were an American girl group from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Formed in 1961 around singer Little Joe Cook and featuring his daughters Delphine and Dinell Cook, niece Charlotte Butler, and cousin Dolores "Honey" Wiley-Sowell, the group initially served as a backup ensemble for local acts such as Bobby Rydell. Their breakthrough came with the release of "Pop Pop Pop-Pie", a tune capitalising on The Popeye dance craze. The single peaked at Number 25 on the US Billboard R&B chart and Number 36 on the Billboard Hot 100, also reaching Number 5 in Canada. Following this success, they performed on American Bandstand and released their debut album, At The Hop With The Sherrys. Despite a follow-up single "Slop Time" not matching the initial success, the group toured Europe twice and gained popularity there. Charlotte Butler eventually settled in Sweden, forming the duo Svenne & Lotta with Svenne Hedlund, which became famous throughout Scandinavia during the 1970s and 1980s.
