Claes Ove Dieden, also known as Claes Dieden, was born on June 4, 1942, in Stockholm, Sweden, and was a singer-songwriter. He began his music career at Sveriges Radio in the early 1960s before forming the band Science Poption in 1965. The group achieved a hit with "Buckingham Palace" in 1967 but disbanded later that year. Dieden's solo career took off after Åke Gerhard signed him to his record label Olga, where he released Da Doo Ron Ron (1969). His first single, "Da Doo Ron Ron", reached Number One on Tio i Topp and number two on Kvällstoppen in 1969. Dieden also contributed backing vocals to Blue Swede's "Hooked on a Feeling" in 1973. He later focused on radio hosting and recording commercials. Dieden passed away on March 11, 2021, at the age of 78 after battling Alzheimer's disease.
