Pension Volkmann was a folk band founded in 1983 in East Berlin, Germany. The duo consisted of singer and guitarist Peter Butschke and guitarist Reinhard Sonnenburg-Buchholz, both alumni of the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin. Their debut album, Die Gefühle, was released in 1985 under Amiga Records. In 1988, they followed up with Vollpension. The band's third album, Traumtänzer, was released in 1993 on Buschfunk. Between 1993 and 2002, the duo disbanded multiple times. Reinhard Sonnenburg-Buchholz passed away on February 1, 2007. Peter Butschke continued his musical career with new members under the name Volkmann.
