Angelika Mann was a German singer and actress born on June 13, 1949, in West Berlin. She studied at the Friedrichshain Music School in East Berlin between 1969 and 1973. Mann performed with the Klaus Lenz Big Band and collaborated with Manfred Krug and Reinhard Lakomy. In 1975 and 1976, she recorded the tracks “Mir doch egal” and “Sieben Zwerge” with Lakomy. She led the ensemble Obelisk from 1980 to 1984, which received a gold medal at the Interpretenwettbewerb der Unterhaltungskunst in 1982. After relocating to West Berlin in 1985, she performed the role of Lucy in Die Dreigroschenoper. Her discography included the studio recordings Was treibt mich nur? (1981), Lieder vom SchlackerSchnick (1987), and Meine Lieder (1998). She also appeared in the film Der Einstein des Sex (1999). In 2019, she received the German Musical Theater Award for her role in the musical Der Mann mit dem Lachen. Mann died of cancer on January 21, 2026, in Berlin-Rudow.
