Ritual Carnage, a Japanese thrash metal band, was formed by frontman Damian Montgomery. Originally from Tampa, Florida, Montgomery had previously played in Pagan Faith before moving to Tokyo in 1986 due to his military service. The band recorded their debut demo with session members Shinjiro Sawada and Ken. Their first concert took place in December 1996 at Meguro. In 1998, Ritual Carnage released their debut album, The Highest Law, which received critical acclaim from metal publications. The band toured extensively, including performances with Impaled Nazarene, Immortal, Benediction, and Marduk. Their subsequent albums included Every Nerve Alive (2000), The Birth of Tragedy (2002), and I, Infidel (2005).
