Bewitched, a Swedish metal band from Umeå, was formed in 1995. Their debut demo Hellspell secured them a contract with Osmose Productions. The first album, Diabolical Desecration, was released in 1996, followed by the EP Encyclopedia of Evil. In 1997, they released their second album, Pentagram Prayer, and toured extensively with acts such as Enslaved and Dark Tranquillity. The band's live performances were documented in the album Hell Comes to Essen (1998). Notable appearances include Dynamo Open Air in 1998 and Wacken Open Air in 1999. In 2002, Bewitched released Rise of the Antichrist, followed by a contract with Regain Records in 2003, under which they released the EP Atrocities in A-Minor. Their final album, Spiritual Warfare, was released in 2006.
