José Antonio Núñez, known as Pepe Núñez, was an Argentine poet and musician. He began his musical career in Salta alongside his brother Gerardo and Ariel Petrocelli, forming the Caribbean music trio Los Guajiros, and later became an important figure in the bohemian cultural life of Tucumán during the 1960s and 1970s. He frequently collaborated with musicians including Juan Falú and Ariel Petrocelli, and his compositions were recorded by artists such as Mercedes Sosa, Alfredo Zitarrosa, and the Dúo Salteño. As a solo artist, he recorded the album La piel del pueblo, and as part of the duo with his brother, released A cantar corazón in 1986. Núñez died in 1999 at the age of 61.
