Manuel Mancheño Peña, known professionally as El Turronero, was a Spanish flamenco singer born in 1947 in Vejer de la Frontera. He developed his style under the influence of masters such as Fernanda de Utrera. During the 1960s, he moved to Madrid to perform in various tablaos before joining the company of Antonio Gades for international tours. He frequently collaborated with guitarist Paco Cepero and released his debut studio album, Canta el Turrón (1970). His subsequent recordings include Huele a romero (1975) and Vente conmigo niña (1976). He experimented with disco fusion on the album New Jondo (1980) and released the sevillanas record Promesa Rota (1982). His discography continued with A mi padre Manué (1990) and Desde Cai (1991). Peña died on 1 September 2006 in Seville. Following his death, his recordings were featured in the 2006 posthumous compilation Grandes Figuras del Cante Flamenco.
