Juan Rafael Cortés Santiago, known as Duquende, was born in Sabadell, Spain, in 1965. He is a Spanish flamenco singer. At eight, he debuted on stage, invited by Camarón de la Isla, accompanying him on guitar. Duquende's first album, Fuego, primo, fuego, was released in 1988. He collaborated with notable guitarists like Paco de Lucía and Tomatito. His album Samaruco (2000) featured direction by Isidro Muñoz and contributions from Juan Manuel Cañizares and Paco de Lucía. Duquende has performed in prestigious venues such as the Théâtre des Champs Élysées in Paris and the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid.
