Ilana Rovina

Ilana Rovina, born אילנה רובינא on February 10, 1934 in Tel Aviv, Mandatory Palestine, was a singer. She completed her army service in the 1950s and then studied music and modeled in Milan. Her breakthrough came with a series of pop hits in the 1960s and 1970s, including "The Road Song," "The Pepper Song," and "Irises." Rovina also acted in the film I Like Mike (1961). During the Yom Kippur War, she entertained Israeli troops alongside musicians such as Leonard Cohen. Ilana Rovina passed away on October 18, 2020, in Tel Aviv at the age of 86 due to complications from COVID-19 and bone cancer.
