The Parvarim, an Israeli music group, was formed in 1960 in by Nissim Menachem and Yossi Hury. In 1972, they released the album הפרברים בשירי סיימון וגרפונקל (The Parvarim Sing Simon and Garfunkel), featuring covers of songs by Simon & Garfunkel. The group's name translates to "the suburbs," reflecting the founders' upbringing in Kerem HaTeimanim, a suburb of Jaffa. In 1977, Menachem left the band for religious studies, and was replaced by Ori Harpaz. After 37 years with The Parvarim, Harpaz departed in 2015, and Hury announced his new partner as Hagai Rehavia. Following Hury's hiatus in 2003, Harpaz collaborated with Elad Shtamer for the show Singing Parvarim. After Shtamer's departure to Canada in late 2023, Kobi Paz joined Harpaz, and they continued performing successfully across Israel.
