Rubella Ballet, a British gothic anarcho-punk band formed in 1979. The group was founded by drummer Sid Truelove, guitarist Pete Fender, bassist Gem Stone and It, with vocalists Annie Anxiety and Womble. Initially known as Rubella Babies, they changed their name to Rubella Ballet and released their debut album Ballet Bag in 1982 on XNTRIX Records. The band's distinctive style featured brightly colored dayglo clothing. Their first EP, Ballet Dance, was released in the same year. In 1984, they embarked on a tour of Italy to promote their single "42°F" and started their own Ubiquitous label. They continued to release albums including If... (1986), Cocktail Mix (1987), and At The End Of The Rainbow (1990). Rubella Ballet disbanded shortly after the latter's release but reformed in 2000 for a performance at the European Gathering festival. Notable releases post-reformation include Anarchy in the U.V. (2008) and Planet Punk (2014).
