The Wall, a punk rock band from Sunderland, England, formed in early 1978. Their debut single "New Way" was released in April 1979 and gained significant traction when it was played regularly by BBC Radio 1 disc jockey John Peel. The band's lineup changed frequently, with notable members including Ivan Kelly and Rab Fae Beith. Their first album Personal Troubles and Public Issues was released in late 1980 to favorable reviews. The Wall toured extensively, supporting acts like the Angelic Upstarts and Stiff Little Fingers. Their second album Dirges and Anthems was released in April 1982 but faced commercial challenges. The band disbanded in 1983 following the release of their EP "Day Tripper". Post-breakup, members pursued various musical projects. Past members Andy Griffiths, Joe Hammond, and Rab Fae Beith have all passed away from various causes.
