The Hollywood Brats, a British glam rock and protopunk band, were formed in London in 1971 by Andrew Matheson on vocals, Casino Steel on keyboards, and Lou Sparks on drums. Initially known as The Queen, they changed their name to avoid confusion with another rising band named Queen. In 1972, guitarist Eunan Brady and bassist Wayne Manor joined the group. They became noted for their flamboyant appearance and aggressive musical style. The Hollywood Brats recorded an LP in 1973 for NEMS Records, but it was not released until 1975 under the title Grown Up Wrong by Mercury Records after the band had disbanded. Their single "Then He Kissed Me" was belatedly released by Cherry Red Records in 1979 and the album reissued as Hollywood Brats. Matheson later released solo albums including Monterey Shoes (1979) and Night of the Bastard Moon (1994). He died from leukemia on May 31, 2025.
