Alexander "Sasha" Argov, born Alexander Abramovich on October 26, 1914, in Moscow, Russia, was an Israeli composer. He began studying piano at age three and started composing music by ear at six. In 1934, Argov migrated to British Palestine with his parents. His first significant work, Ha’Chizbatron, a collection of songs written for the entertainment of Israeli troops, was published in 1948. Throughout his career, Argov composed approximately 1,200 works, including popular songs like "Hareut". He collaborated with notable figures such as Chaim Hefer and Matti Caspi. Argov received the Israel Prize in Hebrew song in 1988. He passed away on September 27, 1995.
