Tapani Valsta, born Heikki Tapani Vallenius in 1921, was a Finnish musician. Valsta made his concert debut on organ in 1946 and on piano in 1948. His breakthrough came in 1949 when he won the Maj Lind Piano Competition. Valsta's career included working with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra from 1953 to 1959, performing as a chamber musician and accompanist. In 1955, he took on the role of church organist for the Lutheran Helsinki Cathedral. He also served as a teacher, lecturer, and professor at the Sibelius Academy from 1959 to 1985. Valsta passed away in 2010 in Helsinki.
