Kaija Helena Saarikettu, born on May 17, 1957 in Tammisaari, Finland, is a violinist and professor. She graduated from Sibelius Academy in 1977 and continued her studies under Endre Wolf in Sweden. In 1980, Saarikettu shared first prize in the Kuopio Violin Competition and was a finalist in the International Jean Sibelius Violin Competition. Her teaching career began at Sibelius Academy in 1985, where she became Professor in 1995. She also held a professorial post at Sweden's Edsberg Music Institute from 1996 to 1997. Saarikettu has performed internationally, including in the USA, UK, and Russia, and has judged the 2015 International Joseph Joachim Violin Competition. Her discography included albums such as Finnish Violin Miniatures (1993), Modern Finnish Solo Violin (1994), and Jean Sibelius Late Works for Violin and Piano (2005).
