Brutality, a death metal band from Tampa, Florida, was formed in 1986 under the name Abomination. The group released their first demo, Abomination, shortly after forming. In 1988, they changed their name to Brutality and released another self-titled demo.
In 1992, Brutality signed with Nuclear Blast Records and released the EP "Sadistic". Their debut album, Screams Of Anguish, was released in June 1993. The band embarked on a European tour with Hypocrisy in early 1994. The band disbanded in 1997. Brutality reunited in 2012 and released an EP titled "Ruins of Humans" in 2013. Their fourth album, Sea of Ignorance, was released in January 2016 through Ceremonial Records. The band performed at Maryland Deathfest in 2019 and began working on new material before disbanding briefly in 2020. They reunited again in 2021 and released the compilation Sempieternity, which included new songs, re-recordings, and live material.
