As part of Gothenburg's melodic metal scene, The Forsaken first started serving up big blasting choruses and extreme riffs since first forming in the late 1990s. Originally known as Septic Breed, the band's line-up evolved into core members Anders Sjöholm, Patrik Persson, Stefan Holm and Nicke Grabowski, and after self-releasing demo 'Reaper', they really made their mark with the album 'Manifesto of Hate'.
Supported by German label Century Media, their destructive, colossal sound was honed further on second record 'Arts of Desolation' in 2002 and they went on tour with acts such as Soilwork, Nile and The Haunted. They continued to record at the cherished metal studio The Abyss in Ludvika, Sweden with producer Peter Tagtgren, and they hit their peak on the 2003 album 'Traces of the Past' before the band's momentum seemed to peter out. Live shows became scarce and they parted company with Century Media in 2009. After a three-year absence they returned on new label Massacre Records with a new album 'Beyond Redemption' and the same explosive, growling force that had always characterised them.
