Konkhra is a Danish death metal band formed in Køge in 1989. Initially going by the name Vicious Circle, the group released their first demo, The Vicious Circle, in 1990 and followed it with Malgrowth in 1991. Their first official record, the EP Stranded, was released on Progress Records in 1992. Konkhra's breakthrough came with the release of their first full-length album, Sexual Affective Disorder, in 1993. The band gained further prominence with Spit or Swallow (1995), recorded at Sunlight Studio and produced by Dismember drummer Fred Estby and Tomas Skogsberg. This album made Konkhra the best-selling band on Progress Records, culminating in a career highlight performance at Roskilde Festival in 1995 for approximately 10,000 spectators. The concert was documented on the live album Live Eraser (1996). Their eighth studio album, Sad Plight of Lucifer, was released on November 29, 2024.
