Philippe Quint is an American classical violinist who was born in 1974 in Leningrad, USSR. He studied at Moscow's Special Music School for the Gifted and made his orchestral debut at age nine. After immigrating to the United States in 1991, he earned degrees from the Juilliard School in 1998. Quint performs on the 1708 "Ruby" Antonio Stradivari violin. His debut recording, William Schuman's Violin Concerto, (2001) received two Grammy Award nominations. In 2005, he released a recording of Leonard Bernstein’s “Serenade” with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. Quint has performed with ensembles including the London Philharmonic, the Chicago Symphony, and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. In 2004, he was the soloist for the world premiere of Lera Auerbach's “Concerto No. 1”. His other recordings include the Korngold: Violin Concerto (2009), which reached the top 20 on the Billboard Classical Chart, and the album Chaplin's Smile (2019).
