Stefan Vladar, born on October 2, 1965, in Vienna, Austria, is a pianist and conductor. He studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna under Hans Petermandl. At age nineteen, Vladar won the 7th International Beethoven Piano Competition in Vienna in 1985, launching his international career. He collaborated with notable conductors such as Claudio Abbado and orchestras including the Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Since the early 2000s, Vladar has also established himself as a conductor, working with ensembles such as the Wiener Symphoniker and the Camerata Salzburg. Vladar is also a professor of piano at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna since 1999.
