Håvard Gimse, born on September 15, 1966, in Kongsvinger, Norway, is a classical pianist. He began his musical journey by earning his diploma at the Hochschule der Künste Berlin in 1995 under Leygraf and continued his studies with Jiri Hlinka in Norway. Gimse has done several notable recordings for labels such as Naim Audio, Naxos Records, Sony Classical Records, Chandos Records, and Simax. His discography included Grieg: Samlede Fiolinsonater (2005), Musique Pour Piano De Norvège (2007), and Mozart: Chamber Concertos (2021). Gimse has also received numerous awards, including the Steinway Award in 1995, the Griegprisen in 1996, the Gammleng Award in 2002, and the Sibelius Award in 2004. He became known for his performances of Beethoven's Cello Sonatas with Truls Mørk at the Bergen International Festival in 2011, for which he won the Norwegian Music Critics Award.
