Peter Hinnen, born Peter Hinnen on 19 September 1941 in Zürich, Switzerland, was a Swiss yodeller and singer known for his contributions to pop and schlager music. He began his career as a yodeller, but his breakthrough came when he was discovered by the Schmid siblings, who introduced him to composer Artur Beul. Artur Beul wrote "Goal" for him, leading to a record deal with Polydor. Peter Hinnen's early career included appearances in schlager films such as Große Star-Parade (1954) and Tanze mit mir in den Morgen (1962). In the 1960s, he transitioned to Ariola Records and continued his success with Wild West-themed schlager songs featuring yodel elements. He performed internationally, including tours in the USA and Japan, where he was celebrated as the "Jodelkönig". His notable releases include "Rosmarie" (1956), "Auf Meiner Ranch Bin Ich König" (1962), and "Cow-Boy-Iodel-Twist / My Bonny Is Over The Ocean / In The Middle Of The Island / He's Got The World" (1963). Peter Hinnen set a Guinness World Record in 1992 for the fastest yodeller, achieving 22 yodel tones in one second. He composed "Ku-Ku-Jodel", which was later covered by folk group Oesch’s die Dritten in 2008. In the mid-1980s, Peter Hinnen retired from show business and moved to a farmhouse near Wattenwil, Switzerland.
