Lais is a Belgian folk group from Kalmthout, Antwerp. The group was founded in 1996 by Jorunn Bauweraerts, Annelies Brosens, and Soetkin Collier, with Nathalie Delcroix joining shortly after to replace Collier. They perform traditional folk songs in various languages, often accompanied by instruments like acoustic guitar and percussion. Their breakthrough came at the Dranoutre Folk Festival in 1996. Lais released their debut album Laïs (1998), followed by Dorothea (2000), A la capella (2003), and Douce victime (2004). They performed internationally and had the song “Kalima Kadara” featured on the television series Flikken. In September 2020, Brosens left the group. Delcroix and Bauweraerts continued as Lais, releasing De Langste Nacht (2022).
