De Kreuners is a Belgian rock band formed in 1978 around frontman Walter Grootaers. They gained early momentum by winning Humo's Rock Rally, leading to their breakthrough single "Nummer een" and a deal with Warner Bros. Their debut album, 's Nachts kouder dan buiten (1981), established them as a leading act in Flanders. After moving to EMI, the band achieved massive success with the 1990 single "Ik wil je." Their recorded legacy includes the platinum-certified compilation Het beste van de Kreuners (2003) and the final studio effort 30 jaar de Kreuners (2008). Although the group announced a retirement in 2012, they returned to performing and recording in 2017.
