Maja Catrin Fritsche (born April 10, 1960) is a German Schlager singer from Leipzig. Fritsche joined the Rundfunkkinderchor Leipzig at age 12 and studied singing at the Hochschule für Musik in Weimar between 1978 and 1982. She toured with Frank Schöbel in 1982 and released the single “Doch da sprach das Mädchen” that same year. Fritsche released the albums Freundliches Wort (1983) and Maja (1984) through the Amiga label. In 1994, she produced the single “Mein Leben fängt heut' wieder an”, followed by the album Gib mir ein Zeichen (1995). Her television appearances included shows such as Ein Kessel Buntes and Bong. Fritsche performed in a tour with Semino Rossi in 2006. In 2015, she released the album So leicht hab ich mich nie gefühlt. Her later singles included “Der siebte Himmel ist noch frei” (2016) and “Hunderttausend Lichter” (2016).
