Tied & Tickled Trio, a German music group, was formed in 1994. Their instrumental music blends elements of jazz, electropop, and dub. The band initially consisted of two drummers and a bassist, along with electronic instruments. Their album, Tied + Tickled Trio, released in 1998, showcased a blend of Blue Note jazz and electronic experiments. The following year, they released EA1 EA2, an album composed entirely from studio improvisations. In 2001, the band recorded Electric Avenue Tapes live at Hamburg's Westwerk, though most tracks were recorded without an audience due to unforeseen circumstances. Notable albums include Observing Systems (2003), which featured collaborations with 13 musicians and received positive reviews, Aelita (2007), and La Place Demon (2011) with Billy Hart. In 2015, Tied & Tickled Trio was awarded the Bayerischer Staatspreis für Musik in the category of Professional Music Making.
