Jette Torp is a Danish singer and entertainer born on December 16, 1964, in Frederiksberg. She studied music at Århus University and the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus. Torp began her career with the trio Dirty Dolls before performing solo. In 1994, she appeared in the Musik & Fis show with Finn Nørbygaard. She participated in the Danish Melodi Grand Prix in 1997 with the recording “Utopia”. Her debut studio album, Here I Am, appeared in 1997. Her discography included the studio recordings What If I Do (1999), New Tracks (2001), and Snowflakes in Fire (2002). In 2003, she released the album Past the Point of Rescue. She recorded her first Danish-language solo album, MikrofonSangerinde, in 2007. Torp also released the recordings Der er ingenting i verden så stille som sne (2009) and Close to You (2011).
