The Aliens were an Australian new wave band formed in April 1978. The group was known for their distinctive "uniform" of black clothes and skinny white ties. In June 1979, they signed with Mushroom Records and released their debut single "Confrontation", which reached number 36 on the Australian Kent Music Report Singles Chart in December that year. Their debut album Translator followed shortly after. The band toured nationally supporting acts like Squeeze and The Police, and had notable TV appearances on shows such as Countdown. In May 1980, Greg Webster left the group, initiating several lineup changes. Despite these shifts, The Aliens continued to release music, including the single "I Don't Care" in December 1981.
