Mary Bergin, born September 13, 1949, in Shankill, County Dublin, Ireland, was a folk musician renowned for her tin whistle skills. She began playing at age nine, influenced by her musical parents. Bergin's breakthrough came with the All-Ireland Tin Whistle Championship win in 1970. In the early 1970s, she moved to An Spidéal, County Galway, and collaborated with groups like De Danann. Her debut album, Feadóga Stáin, was released in 1979, followed by Feadóga Stáin 2 in 1992. Bergin has also been a member of Dordán, which blends traditional Irish music with baroque pieces. Throughout her career, she has taught tin whistle to thousands of students across Ireland, Europe, and the United States.
