Holograf, a Romanian pop rock band from Bucharest, was founded in 1977. The group released their debut album Holograf 1 in 1983 after signing with Electrecord. They gained significant traction with the release of III in 1988, which sold over 200,000 copies. Dan Bittman became the lead singer in 1985, and under his vocals, Holograf released notable hits like "Banii vorbesc" (1992) and "Dincolo de nori" (1994), which Bittman also sang at the Eurovision Song Contest 1994. The band continued to release successful albums, including Supersonic in 1998, Holografica in 2000, which sold over 100,000 copies in its first two weeks, and Pur și simplu in 2003, certified gold and platinum.
