The McDades are a Canadian folk band from Edmonton, Alberta, formed in 2000. The ensemble consists of siblings Shannon Johnson, Jeremiah McDade, and Solon McDade. They achieved professional recognition as former members of the McDade Family Band, performing alongside their parents Terry McDade and Danielle McDade between 1974 and 1994. They released their debut studio recording For Reel (2002). Their recording career includes the studio recording Bloom (2006), which won a Juno Award for Best Roots/Traditional Album (Group) and an Independent Music Award for Best World Album Traditional. The ensemble received two Canadian Folk Music Awards. Their discography includes the studio recording The Empress (2021).
