Thomas Hellman, born July 16, 1975, in Montreal, is a Quebec singer-songwriter, radio commentator, and writer. Born to a Niçoise mother and a Texan father, Hellman released his album, Stories from Oscar’s Old Café, in 2002. In 2012, he launched the book-disc Thomas Hellman chante Roland Giguère, which won him a Coup de cœur prize from the Académie Charles Cros in France. This project led to a live show featuring adaptations of poems by various authors. He has also composed music for film and theater, earning a nomination for Best Original Music at the Gala du cinéma québécois in 2012 for his work on Les manèges humains. In 2015, Hellman released Rêves américains, tome 1: La ruée vers l’or, an album inspired by American history, from the gold rush to the Great Depression.
