Wayé, whose real name is Rolf Derly Nganga, hails from Brazzaville, Congo. His career began in Burkina Faso and Congo, before he turned fully to music in 2015, abandoning a career in aviation. With the group Bones Clique, he made a name for himself with the mixtape The Bone Theory (2014). Solo, he released his debut EP Dear Uncle Sam the same year. His project Ombres & Lumières : Le Prélude (2016) marked a turning point, earning him Male Revelation of the Year at the Beat Street Awards. In 2017, his mixtape Kontrol won Best Mixtape. His Alpha Charlie Echo EP (2019) strengthens his position on the Congolese rap scene. In 2022, he unveils En Attendant Ambition, an album affirming his artistic maturity. In 2024, he scored a major hit with"Pesa", confirming his status as a major artist.
