Nix Ozay, whose real name is Elion Kye Elky, is a versatile musical artist, mastering rap and singing in Lingala, French and English. Born into a military family, he opted for music and, inspired by Michael Jackson and 50 Cent, began rapping in 2007 with local elders. He played in several groups including Big Money (2010), Zone X (2011) and C.O.C (2012-2013) before going solo in 2014. That year, he founded the Royal Entertainment label with friends and family, and enjoyed national success with Possa Makanbo. He then signed with American independent label PNC Records, spent a year in Cameroon, then returned to Congo to develop new projects. In 2019, he co-founded 87 Industry and released his debut album Extrême on March 15 on Gootunes. This 16-track opus, the fruit of two years' work, reflects his background, his vision of African rap and his desire to inspire young people. It touches on themes such as love, perseverance and the struggle for a better future.
