Rapper Abdoulaye Kabore, aka Kayawoto, was born in Côte d'Ivoire in 1995. Abdoulaye suffered the separation of his parents, and had to go into exile at a young age in Burkina Faso with his mother. He left school at the age of 12 and earned his living as best he could, panning for gold, working as a mechanic and catering in several African countries to help his mother. Fascinated by freestyle at a time when African rappers were digging a furrow, he really launched himself in 2014. He was selected for a compilation of emerging Burkinabe rap artists in 2018, the Sang-Neuf 109 compilation , bringing together six artists with a mastery of Mooré. The tracks "Wagdré " and "Tabi Yonsé" seduced the compilation's producer, who would then accompany Kayawoto on the production of his album. The clips that emerged from these first singles were a hit, with "Tabi Yonse" ranking in the top ten most popular on Trace Tv. The consecration was not long in coming with the release of Maouland in 2021, and in particular the single "Rakanra biiga", which surpassed 600,000 views in one week. He creates a second buzz with the track "Toongo ", shot in Dubai. He plays on the codes of US rap, reminding young Africans that hard work is the only way to achieve success. Musically, he surfs an Afro-pop electronic repertoire. The artist is programmed in African festivals. He received numerous awards: Kundé de la révélation 2021, best musical artist at the gala des personnalités culturelles de l'année 2021 in Ouagadougou, and in 2022 the Fecub D'or (festival de la culture burkinabé) for his concert at the Palais des Sports in Ouagadougou, as well as best video clip with "Toongo ", and best rapper at the Trophées du rap in Burkina Faso. He announces the release of two albums in 2023 and a performance at the Eurockéennes festival in Belfort.
