Arne Joachim Bendiksen was a Norwegian singer, composer, and producer born on 19 October 1926 in Bergen. He achieved professional recognition as a member of the group The Monn Keys in the 1950s and later as a soloist. Bendiksen represented Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest (1964) with the track “Spiral” (1964). He achieved professional recognition as a composer for other artists, notably for the track “Intet er nytt under solen” (1966), which reached third place in the Eurovision Song Contest (1966). In 1964, he established his own record company. His discography includes the studio recordings Synger For Barna (1964) and Alle tiders barneplate (1967), the latter reaching number 5 on the Norwegian charts. Bendiksen released the children's recordings Barnefest i Andeby (1980) and Jul i Andeby (1981). He received the Spellemannprisen (1995) and the Norwegian Merit Medal in Gold (1996). Bendiksen died on 26 March 2009.
