Nora Brockstedt, born on January 20, 1923, in Oslo, Norway, was a singer who began her career at the age of 20, performing at the cabaret Chat Noir in Oslo. In the early 1950s, she joined The Monn Keys, a group featuring Arne Bendiksen and Egil Monn-Iversen. Brockstedt made history as the first Norwegian singer at the Eurovision Song Contest, participating in 1960 with "Voi-voi" and again in 1961 with "Sommer i Palma". Throughout her career, she released notable albums such as Nora Synger Prøysen (1971). In later years, she focused on jazz and Christmas music, released successful albums like As Time Goes By (2004) and a collection of Christmas songs (2005). Brockstedt passed away on November 5, 2015.
