Precious was a British girl group formed in late 1998, consisting of Sophie McDonnell and Jenny Frost, who were later joined by Anya Lahiri, Kalli Clark-Sternberg, and Louise Rose. The group's breakthrough came when they were selected to represent the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest 1999 with "Say It Again". Released as a single on May 17, 1999, "Say It Again" reached Number six on the UK Singles Chart and secured 28 points, placing twelfth out of twenty-three participants. Following this success, Precious signed with EMI and released their self-titled debut album Precious on November 20, 2000. The album featured notable collaborations with producers Cutfather & Joe and Chris Porter, including a cover of Ricky Martin's "I Count the Minutes". Their subsequent singles included "Rewind" (released in 2000), which peaked at Number eleven, "It's Gonna Be My Way", and "New Beginning". Despite initial promise, the group disbanded after their label dropped them. Each member pursued solo careers: Sophie McDonnell became a television and radio presenter; Jenny Frost joined Atomic Kitten; Anya Lahiri returned to modeling and acting; Louise Rose also ventured into acting.
