Tyree Cooper, born November 26 in Chicago, is an American house musician, rapper, and DJ who emerged as a key figure in the hip‑house movement of the late 1980s. His early career was marked by the underground hit "Acid Over" (1987) and subsequent releases such as "Turn Up The Bass" (1988) and "House Music Is My Life" (1989), which established his reputation within the Chicago house scene. In 1988, he released the album Tyree's Got A Brand New House, followed by Nation Of Hip House (1989) on D. J. International Records and CBS. The early 1990s saw the release of the album The Time Iz Now! (1991) and the EP Da Soul Revival (1994). Cooper also collaborated with notable Chicago producers such as Fast Eddie, Joe Smooth, and Kool Rock Steady. His later output included the EP Vibration (2004) and the single "Say Your Prayer" (2001), reflecting a continued presence on the house circuit. In 2007, he formed the DJ duo Jack The Box with British DJ Bobby Starrr, producing singles such as "The Way We Walk" (2012).
