These Arms Are Snakes was an American post-hardcore band formed in 2002. The group initially included Steve Snere, Brian Cook, Ryan Frederiksen, Joe Preston, and Jesse Robertson. They released their debut EP, This Is Meant to Hurt You, in 2003 under Jade Tree Records. Following member departures, the band continued as a four-piece and released their first full-length album, Oxeneers or the Lion Sleeps When Its Antelope Go Home, in 2004. Their second studio album, Easter, was released in 2006, featuring themes of religion and existentialism. The third and final album, Tail Swallower and Dove, came out in 2008 under Suicide Squeeze Records. Notable singles include "Good Friday" and "Meet Your Mayor / Future Gets Tense". These Arms Are Snakes toured extensively with bands such as Minus the Bear, Mastodon, and Against Me!. The band disbanded in 2009, but later reunited for two performances in Seattle, a secret show on December 29, 2016, followed by a publicly announced reunion concert on August 28, 2021. In 2022, the band released Duct Tape & Shivering Crows through Suicide Squeeze.
