Dick & Dee Dee, born Richard Gosting and Mary Sperling from Los Angeles, California, are an American musical duo. They met while attending Paul Revere Junior High School and later reconnected after graduation to form a singing partnership. Their first single, "The Mountain's High", released on Lama Records in 1961, reached number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and sold over a million copies. The duo toured extensively with notable acts such as the Beach Boys and opened for the Rolling Stones during their 1964 California tour. They recorded several albums, including Tell Me – The Mountain's High (1962) (featuring "Tell Me"), Turn Around (1963), Young And In Love (1963), and Thou Shalt Not Steal (2005). Dick & Dee Dee also contributed vocals to three Rolling Stones tracks, including "When Blue Turns to Grey". The duo disbanded in 1969. Richard Gosting, who later changed his name to Dick St. John, died on December 27, 2003. Sperling continued to perform with singer Michael Dunn as Dick & Dee Dee in 2008.
