Clear Light was an American psychedelic rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1966. Initially known as The Brain Train, they recorded “Black Roses” before changing their name and signing to Elektra Records. Their only studio album, Clear Light (1967), featured the notable track “Mr. Blue”, which became popular on underground radio. The band's lineup underwent changes during the recording process, including the addition of Cliff De Young on lead vocals and the departure of Robbie "The Werewolf" Robison and Bob Seal. Despite moderate success, reaching number 126 on the Billboard chart, Clear Light disbanded in 1968.
