Shin (May 14, 1971) is a Taiwanese singer-songwriter, better known as the frontman of the band of the same name. He started off singing in various pubs before forming the band Shin, with whom he released five albums before quitting in 2007 to pursue a solo career. That same year, he issued his studio debut I'm Just Me, which earned him a nomination for the 19th Golden Melody Awards. His sophomore effort, Take Me to the Stars (2008), peaked at Number 3 on the G-Music Mandarin Chart and While I (2009) reached Number 1, largely thanks to the hit single “The Lonely Fire.” Further success ensued with the chart-topping Before the Dawn (2011), whose title track won Best Song of the Year at the Sprite Music Awards. In 2012, Shin took a left turn with the full-length I Remember, an album of romantic ballads that included his first song in Cantonese. After parting ways with longtime label Avex Taiwan in 2014, he signed to HIM International Music and released the album Whatever, I Just Believe In (2015), followed by his participation in the fourth season of the reality show I Am Singer. Following a tour throughout Asia during 2016, Shin unveiled his eighth album, Welcome to My World, in 2016.
