Kim Tae-woo, born on May 12, 1981, in Gumi, North Gyeongsang, South Korea, is a South Korean singer known as the lead vocalist of the boy band g.o.d. Despite not having a musical background, Kim had a dream of becoming a singer and sent in a demo tape to Park Jin-young, who was recruiting a final member for the project group that would become South Korean boy band g.o.d ("Groove Over Dose"). Despite a slow start, g.o.d went on to one of the popular first-generation K-pop groups. After the group went on hiatus in late December 2005, Kim released his first solo album, Solo Special, on October 26, 2006. His second album, T-Virus, was released on September 3, 2009, and reached number 20 on the charts. The album featured the hit single "Love Rain," which became one of Kim's most well-known songs and won him the Best Ballad/R&B Performance Award at the 11th Mnet Asian Music Awards. In 2011, Kim released his third album, T-School, which peaked at number 3 on the Gaon Album Chart with the song "Echo" earning him further award nominations. After reuniting with g.o.d for their 15th anniversary and releasing album Chapter 8 on July 8, 2014, Kim made his solo comeback in 2015 with fifth album, T-Road, which reached number 11. The album included two lead singles, one of which was "Lonely Funk" featuring hip hop artist Jay Park. Kim released his sixth album, titled T-WITH, in June 2017, and contributed to several television soundtracks including “Love Ya” (2017) from and “To You” from She Would Never Know (2021). In 2023, he made a return with non-album singles "The Night I Miss You" and "High High," which charted in the top 200 at number 196 in June that year.
