Kim Soo-hyun (born February 16, 1988, in Seoul, South Korea) is a renowned South Korean actor and singer. Beginning his career as an actor, Kim became a household name in 2011 with his role in the high school musical drama Dream High. The show's theme song, "Dream High" (which he performed with Taecyeon, Wooyoung, Suzy, and Joo), reached number 41 on the charts, while another single from the show, "Dreaming," soared to number 4. His popularity surged further in 2012 when he starred as King Lee Hwon in the hit period drama Moon Embracing the Sun, contributing to the soundtrack with the song "The One and Only You" (그대 한 사람), which climbed to number 2. That same year, he released his own single "Another Way: Secret Version" (또 다른 길), which landed at number 38 on the Billboard Korea K-Pop Hot 100 chart. Kim cemented his status as a top Hallyu star with the fantasy series My Love from the Star (2013–14), recording "If I" (너의 집 앞) for the soundtrack, which reached number 4 in 2014.
